“Healing Arts is being born as we speak. The concept is catching fire, is awakening in people’s spirits…Artists, musicians and dancers are realising their imagery has meaning….that their imagery heals them, others, their neighborhood, or the earth.” Michael Samuels
By creative arts, we mean storytelling, poetry, music, drama, improvisation, movement, dance, visual arts, painting, sculpture, everything that is usually thought of as creativity. We believe that art and healing is an art tool that can be used for healing and building creativity. For many of us, healing art is a spiritual path, a transformational process, a way of being. This site concentrates on making art to heal the self, the soul and the mind, on the power of the creative process of art as a healing force. Arts of Mind and all the workshops created are based within the philosophy of sacred geometry (golden circle and circle of life). Almost all ancient people created their temples and other sacred spaces with careful reference to the correct numbers and geometry. It is found in all circles, triangles and squares as well as in ratios and harmonics. Harmony is created by the (sometimes) subliminal repetition for the same proportions. In this case the arts (drama, music and visual arts) are used as healing and self-reflection to create harmony between the self, mind and soul. No artistic talent is needed to participate in art as healing workshops, or to do creative activities on your own. By using and focusing on creative arts and the sacred philosophy of nature one can heal the self and raise awareness about our magnificent natural world. “Nature gets into our souls and opens door to hidden parts of ourselves “ – Pamela Heyda.
No matter what the art form, research confirms that the arts enhance healing. Using the creative arts as a tool for healing can be a very powerful process, which may enable long buried feelings to come to the surface and be acknowledged. Arts as healing works with any medium drawing, painting, sculpting, collage and many more. “It is the capacity for art to be a bridge between the inner world and outer reality which gives the image the role as mediator” – The Handbook of Art Therapy by Caroline Case and Tessa Dalley. In the art and healing process, no interpretation or formal therapy in needed. The creative process is the healer. By using creative arts (drama, music and visual arts) the arts process is transformational in itself. We will give you links to art as healing workshops, team building workshops, creative arts inspirational workshops , articles, research and many more.
